Host Agreement
Thank you for agreeing to host a Dekker Listening Room Session.
These evenings only happen because generous people are willing to open their homes and spaces to others. I'm genuinely grateful that you've chosen to be part of one.
This agreement isn't intended to be a legal document. It's simply here to make sure we're both on the same page and that everyone involved has a safe, relaxed and memorable evening.
What I'll Provide
I'll perform one live musical performance of approximately 60 to 90 minutes.
Listening Room Sessions are designed to be intimate and, wherever possible, unplugged. Most of the time I'll only need a chair to sit on and a small space for merchandise. If I need to bring any additional equipment, I'll let you know well in advance.
I'll handle all ticket sales through the Dekker webshop, so you won't need to collect money or sales.
If a show ever needs to be cancelled or refunded, I'll take care of that too. Please have a back up plan in case you or someone else in the house falls ill..
What You'll Provide
You'll provide a clean, safe and suitable space for the agreed number of guests.
If anything changes regarding the venue or the arrangements we've discussed, please let me know as soon as possible.
If the venue itself needs to change, we'll agree on that together before notifying guests.
On the day of the show, I'll send you the final guest list. As guests arrive, you'll simply check names at the door. Anyone not on the list should only be admitted if they're one of your complimentary guests or we've agreed beforehand that they'll be attending.
If appropriate, please let your neighbours know that you'll be hosting a small live music performance. These evenings are generally very respectful and low key, but a little notice can go a long way.
During the Show
Listening Room Sessions are designed around a single performance, so there won't be any opening acts or additional performers.
I'll usually bring a small selection of records, CDs and other merchandise for guests who'd like to take something home after the show.
We'll work together to make sure everyone feels welcome and behaves respectfully. If anyone becomes disruptive, we'll deal with it together, including asking someone to leave if necessary.
You're welcome to decide whether guests may bring their own drinks. If you do allow this, I simply ask that the atmosphere remains that of a concert rather than a party. Food should generally be avoided during the performance.
After the Show
Guests are asked to leave within approximately 30 minutes of the performance ending.
Once everyone has headed home, I'll pack up my things and be on my way too.
A Final Note
The aim of every Listening Room Session is simple: a room full of people sharing an evening of music in a warm, respectful atmosphere.
If you ever have questions, concerns or ideas before the show, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Good communication makes these evenings even better.
By accepting this agreement, you're simply confirming that we've both got the same understanding of how the evening will work, and that you're happy to host a Dekker Listening Room Session.
Thank you again. I can't wait to play for you and your guests.
Please fill out the following form to confirm you have read, and agree to the Host Agreement, and a little extra information needed to help the day run as smoothly as possible.
